5 Day Itinerary
Day 1 (January 10): Welcome to Arctic Lapland
Meals: Dinner
Welcome to Finnish Lapland! Upon arrival, you’ll be met for your private transfer to Apukka Resort, where your Aurora Cabin Family Glass Igloo awaits beneath the northern sky. Sit back and relax as you travel through snow-covered forests on your way to this Arctic winter wonderland.
After settling into your glass-roofed cabin, take a moment to breathe in the crisp Arctic air and soak up your first glimpse of this magical landscape.
As evening falls, gather with your fellow Flying the Nest families for a warm welcome dinner. Share stories, meet the group, and toast to the adventure ahead as snow blankets the forest outside.
Tonight, if the skies are clear, keep watch from your cabin… the Northern Lights may make their very first appearance above you, all from the comfort of your bed!

Day 2 (January 11): Reindeer Ride to Santa
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Wake to your first full day in Lapland, where snow-covered forests glow softly under the Arctic sky. After breakfast, bundle up for one of the most magical experiences of the expedition.
Travel by reindeer through the snowy wilderness! Wrapped in warm blankets, glide quietly through the forest trails before arriving at Santa’s hidden cabin deep in the Arctic woods.
Here, your family will enjoy a private and heartwarming visit with Santa himself. Bake gingerbread cookies together, craft your own Christmas card, and learn the art of moving through the snow just like one of Santa’s elves. It’s a beautifully immersive experience that feels straight out of a storybook.
After returning to our wintery resort, enjoy time to relax, explore the snowy surroundings or try out the optional lakeside sauna (additional charges apply).
For those up for the fun, we’ll host a friendly family snowman-building contest in the snow at our resort. Get creative, embrace the cold, and see which family can craft the most impressive Frosty! Prizes & bragging rights included!
After gathering for our cozy group dinner, another Arctic evening awaits and if the sky is clear, the Northern Lights may dance above your glass igloo once more.

Day 3 (January 12): Arctic Adventure on Snow and Ice
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
After breakfast, it’s time to experience the thrill of the Arctic wilderness.
Head out on a guided family snowmobiling adventure, designed especially for families to explore Lapland’s pristine winter landscapes together. Glide across frozen lakes and weave through snow-covered forests, feeling the crisp air on your face as you journey deeper into the white silence of the north.
Later, slow the pace and embrace a traditional Finnish winter pastime with ice fishing. Learn how to drill through thick Arctic ice, drop your line into the still waters below, and discover the quiet patience that defines life in Lapland’s winter months. It’s a beautiful way to connect with nature and maybe even catch your own dinner!
Return to our resort in the late afternoon to warm up and unwind before gathering for another cosy dinner with the group.

Day 4 (January 13): Santa Claus Village & Northern Lights Adventure
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
After breakfast, we head to the iconic Santa Claus Village, located right on the Arctic Circle. Cross the famous Arctic Circle line, explore the charming festive village, and enjoy free time to experience it your way.
Visit Santa again for another magical moment, send postcards home from the official Santa Claus Post Office, browse the cosy Christmas shops, or opt for additional experiences such as a thrilling husky ride through the snowy forest. This is a relaxed and joyful day to soak up the magic at your own pace.
In the evening, the adventure continues.
After dinner, climb aboard a Snowtrain to the Northern Lights Camp and journey deep into the Arctic wilderness beneath the stars. Surrounded by silent snow-covered forests, gather around a crackling campfire with warm drinks in hand as you wait for the sky to come alive.
If conditions are right, watch as ribbons of green light dance overhead, a breathtaking natural spectacle and the perfect finale to your Arctic adventure.
Return to your Aurora Cabin late in the evening, hearts full and cheeks rosy from the cold.

Day 5 (January 14): Farewell from the Arctic
Meals: Breakfast
Enjoy one final breakfast together as we say our farewells, reminiscing on the unforgettable moments shared in the Arctic.
At the appropriate time, you’ll be collected for your private transfer to the airport, ensuring a smooth and relaxed departure from Lapland.
You leave with more than photos… reindeer trails, snowy laughter, Northern Lights dancing overhead, and memories your family will carry long after the snow has melted.
