8 Day Itinerary

Day 1 (April 6): Salaam Oman – Arrival in Muscat

Meals: Dinner

Welcome to the Sultanate of Oman! After landing in Muscat, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. Take time to relax and refresh after your flight.

This evening, we’ll gather for a special welcome dinner featuring traditional Omani cuisine—expect fragrant spices, grilled meats, and warm hospitality as we toast the journey ahead.

Overnight: Muscat

Day 2 (April 7): Island Paradise & Old Muscat Charm

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, head to the marina for a snorkelling trip to the pristine Daymaniyat Islands, a UNESCO-listed nature reserve home to coral reefs, sea turtles, and tropical fish. Swim in crystal-clear waters and soak in this untouched paradise.

Return to the hotel to rest, then explore Old Muscat’s cultural treasures: visit the elegant Royal Opera House, the ceremonial Al Alam Palace, and the historic Mirani and Jalali forts.

Enjoy a scenic drive along the Muttrah Corniche, lined with traditional dhows and whitewashed buildings, with photo stops at the Omani Parliament and Al Bustan Palace hotel. End the day wandering the vibrant Muttrah Souq, where frankincense and silver sparkle in the winding alleys.

Day 3 (April 8): Wadis, Coastline & Turtles by Night

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, embark on a day filled with stunning natural landscapes and coastal wonders.

Begin at the Bimah Sinkhole, a dramatic turquoise crater formed from limestone, where you can cool off with a refreshing swim!

Next, stop at the Wadi Shab Viewpoint for spectacular panoramic views of a lush canyon where freshwater streams cascade into the sea—an iconic Omani landscape perfect for photos.

Continue deeper into the mountains to Wadi Tiwi, a verdant valley dotted with palm groves and traditional villages. Enjoy several scenic stops along the way to admire the towering cliffs and sparkling freshwater pools, soaking in the peaceful rural atmosphere.

Arriving at the coastal town of Sur, visit a traditional dhow-building yard to watch skilled craftsmen handcraft these iconic wooden boats, a centuries-old maritime tradition still alive today. Then, head to Al Ayjah Lighthouse for breathtaking views of the coastline and a perfect family photo opportunity.

After dinner, prepare for a magical evening at the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve. Join a guided night walk along the beach to witness (if we get lucky) endangered green turtles as they come ashore to nest.

Day 4 (April 9): Desert & Dunes Adventures

After breakfast, head to Wadi Bani Khalid, a lush oasis with emerald pools perfect for swimming and exploring palm-filled valleys.

In the afternoon, experience a thrilling 4x4 drive through the Wahiba Sands, climbing sand dunes to watch a spectacular desert sunset. Spend the night at a desert camp beneath the stars.

Day 5 (April 10): Exploring Ancient Villages and Fortresses

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast at the camp, set out to explore Oman’s rich history through its ancient villages and mighty forts.

Begin with a visit to Al Manzifat, a fascinating abandoned village featuring narrow alleys and traditional architecture built for protection during medieval tribal conflicts. Wander through its peaceful ruins and imagine life in centuries past.

Next, head to Jibrin Castle, an impressive five-story fortress with 55 rooms showcasing exquisite carved doors, intricate frescoes, and detailed Islamic inscriptions that tell stories of Omani heritage. A unique highlight is the traditional falaj irrigation channel running through the castle, demonstrating ancient water management techniques still admired today.

Continue with a photo stop at the monumental Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the third millennium BC. Its massive defensive walls stretch over 110 meters, a remarkable example of ancient Omani military architecture.

Explore the nearby village of Al Hamra, one of Oman’s best-preserved old towns. Stroll among centuries-old mud houses and abandoned buildings, stepping back in time to experience authentic Omani life and culture.

For lunch, enjoy a delicious traditional meal at Bait Al Burj Museum, a beautifully restored Omani heritage house. Savour homemade dishes bursting with fragrant spices, fresh dates, and traditional Omani coffee, all served with warm hospitality. This meal offers a true taste of Oman’s culinary heritage and an intimate glimpse into daily life in a traditional home.

Day 6 (April 11): From Ancient Ruins to the Green Mountains

Meals: Breakfast

Start with a photo stop at Birkat Al Mouz, a famous ruined village with banana plantations and a UNESCO-listed ancient falaj irrigation system.

Then, embark on a family-friendly adventure to Jebel Akhdar ("Green Mountain"), a fertile plateau with terraced farms growing pomegranates, apricots, and Damask roses. If visiting March to May, you might see the traditional rose harvest.

Enjoy a gentle 90-minute family trek through a historic village like Wadi Bani Habib, passing walnut and juniper trees, abandoned stone houses, and lush terraced farms. Kids will love spotting donkeys, farm tools, and trickling water streams.

Day 7 (April 12): Discovering Nizwa – Oman’s Historic Capital and Vibrant Souq

Meals: Breakfast

Visit Nizwa, Oman’s first capital, nestled by the Hajar Mountains. Explore the lively Nizwa Souq, filled with hand-carved khanjars, spices & silver jewellery.

Tour the impressive Nizwa Fort, with massive towers, secret tunnels, and panoramic views from the top.

End with a visit to the charming village of Fanja and a short walk through Wadi Fanja, a peaceful oasis of palm groves and traditional houses—a perfect spot to relax and take a dip before returning to Muscat.

Day 8 (April 13): Farewell Oman

Meals: Breakfast

After a memorable journey through Oman, you will be transferred to Muscat Airport for your onward flight. We say farewell with warm wishes and hope the memories of this incredible adventure stay with you forever.
