BYRON GUIDE: WHAT TO SEE, EAT & SHOP IN BYRON BAY

We are currently on a flight home after having the most magical 4 days in Byron Bay. This beautiful beachside town has been on our Australian bucket list for the longest time, and we can totally see what all the fuss is about. This spot is now up there with one of the our favourite places in all of Australia.

Four days was the perfect amount of time, spending half exploring & the other relaxing. Make sure you check out our YouTube video below, and keep scrolling for our Byron Beach guide.

Where To Stay: Reflections Holiday Park

We found our very own slice of heaven here in Byron Bay, Reflections Clarkes Beach Holiday Park felt like our home away from home.

After our red eye flight from Perth to the Gold Coast we hired a car and drove the 50 minutes out to Clarkes Beach here in Byron. We were greeted to the most stunning cabin located metres from the ocean, with ceiling to floor windows giving us the most amazing views. Our superior cabin had a comfy bed, cute kitchenette and a stunning bathroom with huge bathtub. Our favourite spot however was the outdoor verandah where we spent each night having dinner and watching the sunset.

If you are heading to Byron we highly recommend checking into Reflections Holiday Park and requesting cabin 22, this is the one with the best views of Clarkes Beach!

Where To Eat

For Coffee: Beach

This stunning cafe right on the water is located just outside Reflections Holiday Park. Each morning we would grab a coffee from their little takeaway kiosk and go for a sunrise walk along Clarkes Beach. We recommend trying a cup of their Byron Bay Coffee Company's organic 'beach' blend - and if you are after some breakfast the panoramic views from the restaurant is unreal!

Location: 2 Massinger St, Byron Bay

For Breakfast: Combi

If you are heading to Byron you need to have at least one breakfast at a super hipster, beachy, health spot ... and that spot is Combi. With colourful smoothie bowls, fluffy pancakes and strong coffee - this organic, raw, gluten free cafe screams Byron.

We recommend trying their peanut butter acai bowl, buckwheat pancakes and iced coffee with a big scoop of coconut ice cream - sooo yummy!

Location: Fletcher St, Byron Bay

For Lunch: The Farm

Set upon an 80-acre working farm, The Farm represents an ethically sustainable and healthy way of living. Here you will find pigs, horses, cows and chickens all free roaming in beautiful pastures - as well as a cafe, florist, bakery and yoga studio all in one location.

If you are looking for a beautiful meal we recommend eating at Three Blue Ducks, or if you want more of a chilled out lunch grab some pies and sweet treats from the bakery & have a picnic under a tree overlooking the property.

Location: 11 Ewingsdale Rd, Ewingsdale

For Dinner: Home Cooked BBQ

At our beautiful cabin we had our very own BBQ and ended up using every night for dinner. We loved heading to the local Woolworths, stocking up on a bunch of supplies and cooking up a bbq dinner while watching the sunset - the perfect way to end each day here in Byron.

Things To Do

Byron's Beaches

You can't visit Byron without hitting up at least one of the beaches here. With soft white sand, bright blue waters and the perfect waves for surfers - Byron really does have some of the best Aussie beaches. Some of our favourites are Main Beach, Clarkes Beach, Wategos Beach & Tallows Beach.

THE SHOPPING!

We still can't get over how many amazing boutique clothing and homeware stores we stumbled across here in Byron. We could have easily spent our entire time browsing the stores and streets (and we may have shopped for at least an hour whenever we headed into town).

Our favourite stores for clothing are: Spell & The Gypsy, Arhem Clothing, Afends, Mister Zimi, Auguste, Enzo & Totto and This & That Boutique.

Out favourite stores for homeware are: Hendrix and Harlow, Hope & May, Bisque, Island Luxe, Mar-Kett and Pampa.

Killen Falls

If you are looking to head out of town and explore the nearby rainforest we recommend checking out Killen Falls. This large swimming hole has a 10m waterfall that you can chill behind, and also enjoy cooling  off in the fresh waters below.

Swim with Sea Turtles

Byron Bay is teaming with marine life. We recommend heading out to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve where you can have an incredible experience snorkelling with sea turtles, manta rays and much more! We did have a snorkel tour booked in, but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the forecast. This just gives us another reason to come back!

Sunrise at Cape Byron Lighthouse

If you are looking for the best spot to watch the sunrise in Byron Bay we recommend taking the coastal walkway up to the Cape Byron lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1901 and is located on the eastern most point of mainland Australia.
