BABYMOON IN FIJI | OVERWATER BUNGALOW AT KORO SUN RESORT, SAVUSAVU

Lately we have been trying to take each moment in as we only have a few more months left until our new addition to the family joins us. We decided this summer we wanted to go on an epic babymoon, somewhere we could relax, unwind and enjoy each others company. We made a list of destinations that have a relaxing, romantic, tropical vibes and Fiji easily ticked all of those boxes. Before we knew it we were on a flight headed to Nadi International Airport!

When planning our Fiji getaway we wanted to explore areas of Fiji a little lesser known and heard that Vanua Levu Island had some beautiful spots to explore. After a google we came across the breathtaking Koro Sun Resort and knew this is was the spot to kick off our babymoon adventures.

If you are busy planning your next summer getaway, we are here to convince you why Fiji is the place to go! Check out our YouTube video below of our time at Koro Sun Resort, and keep scrolling for more info!

Koro Sun Resort: Checking In

After our short, scenic flight from Nadi to Savusavu we were greeted at the tiny island airport and taken to our new home for the next 3 nights. On arrival we were surrounded by a bunch friendly staff singing to us as we were given fresh coconuts and taken into the reception for a foot scrub before being checked in - what a way to kick start our time here in Fiji!

Surrounded by rainforest and crystal blue waters, the property is located on 160 acres of lush tropical rainforest. Koro Sun offers air-conditioned bungalows and luxury villas with stunning ocean views along with a 9-hole golf course, infinity pool & swim up bar, tennis court and the Rainforest Spa hidden in the jungle.

The Room

We stayed in one of their Edgewater Pool Bures, which are the newest addition to the resort. What makes these villas so special is the fact we had direct access to the ocean from our very own private ladder located on our private balcony! Each bure has a contemporary Fijian feel to them, with high ceilings and tropical thatched roofing.

Our villa included a beautiful king sized bed, sofa bed, mini fridge, a spacious bathroom with rain shower and bathtub and our very own private courtyard with plunge pool. If you are looking for a romantic spot to stay we highly recommend splurging on the Edgewater Bure!

The Food

You will not go hungry during your stay here - trust us! Koro Sun Resort has both half board and full board options. We opted for the full board which includes a full American breakfast made to order, a 3 course a la carte lunch or themed buffet when available and the same 3 course a la carte or buffet option for dinner. We happened to be staying at the resort over Australia Day and they put on an Aussie Day BBQ for lunch. Think fresh seafood and meats straight off the grill, fresh salads and fruit along with some lamingtons for dessert - our favourite meal during our stay!

While there we recommend grabbing a meal from the Sand Bar and Grill. It's the resorts newest restaurant serving a casual menu right on the waterfront (and if you went for one of the food plans this spot is included). We enjoyed some delicious calamari, fresh fish tacos and Vietnamese spring rolls and loved it all.

The Activities

We loved how many complimentary activities Koro Sun has to offer. We aren't very good at the whole relaxing holiday, and love to be out & about on adventures. During our stay we went on a guided snorkel to a nearby reef, kayaked straight from our villa, spent our afternoons stand up paddle boarding and opted for an additional day trip to visit a local village and dived into a stunning waterfall.

If you do want to relax you must get a treatment done at their Rainforest Spa. They also have a beautiful infinity pool with a swim up bar which we spent most evenings watching the sunset and sipping on coconuts.
