Lucerne

From Zurich, drive to Lucerne, a charming city situated on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The city is renowned for its stunning medieval architecture, including the Chapel Bridge, a wooden covered bridge that dates back to the 14th century. Spend a day here, taking a stroll along the lake or hiking one of the nearby mountains.

If you're looking for a day trip from Lucerne, the Golden Round Trip is a must-do. This trip takes you on a journey through some of Switzerland's most stunning landscapes, including mountains, lakes, and glaciers.

The Golden Round Trip includes four different modes of transportation: a boat ride on Lake Lucerne, a cogwheel train ride up to the summit of Mount Pilatus, a gondola ride down to the Fräkmüntegg station, and a cable car ride down to Kriens.

The journey begins with a boat ride from Lucerne to Alpnachstad, where you'll board the cogwheel train to the top of Mount Pilatus. The train takes about 30 minutes to reach the summit, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape along the way. Once at the top, you can spend some time exploring the area, taking in the panoramic views, and enjoying a meal at one of the restaurants.

Next, take the gondola down to the Fräkmüntegg station, where you can try out the rope park, which features zip lines and other aerial obstacles. From there, take the cable car down to Kriens, where you can catch a bus back to Lucerne.

The entire trip takes about 5-6 hours and costs around CHF 110 per person. This includes all transportation and access to the rope park at Fräkmüntegg.
