LUXURY WEEK AWAY | CRESTED BUTTE COLORADO WITH THIRDHOME
A dream of ours for 2017 was to end the year experiencing our first white Christmas. We knew we would be spending the last few months of the year in South America, so we decided that USA would be the spot to fulfill our childhood dream.
We spent two weeks in Colorado and three weeks in Canada building snowmen, drinking hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies by the fire - basically the perfect first white Christmas.
During our time in Colorado we decided to rent a car and head to Crested Butte as we had heard such incredible things from many Coloradans who watch our vlogs. We used this time to experience our very first stay with ThirdHome at one of their luxurious homes in the mountains - a stay we will never forget!

Our Luxury Property: Black Diamond Summit
Black Diamond Summit is one of the most beautiful properties in Crested Butte, being large enough to be the perfect family getaway home but also designed to make you feel warm and cozy at the same time.
From the house we could look over the resort, the town, the valley, and just about everything else! 17 mountain peaks are visible from the balcony and it is one breathtaking sight to wake up to each morning!
In winter, you can literally ski in & out from the home straight down to the access point of Westwall lift and in the summer you are just steps away from some of the most beautiful hiking trails that Crested Butte has to offer. Unfortunately for us we arrived a little too early for their to be enough snow to ski, but we still enjoyed experiencing the wintery vibe Crested Butte has (even without the snow).
This house is H-U-G-E! When you walk in you are welcomed to wall to floor windows in the grand living room and stunning kitchen. On this level you will also find a large mudroom, laundry, walk in pantry, the heated garage (what?!), a large bedroom with ensuite and jetted bathtub.
Upstairs you will find the large loft with office and the master suite with King bed, outdoor deck, and master bath with steam shower and jetted tub.
Downstairs is holds the media room, game area (with a pool table), wet bar, and wine cellar. Off the media area is a THIRD master suite with queen bed and large en-suite bath with shower and jetted tub (obviously). You will also find another bedroom with en-suite bath and a room with two bunk beds for the kids.
This level of the home also has access to a hot tub that overlooks the resort and town - our favourite part of the home. Each morning we would grab a cup of coffee and start our day in the hot tub watching the sunrise over the mountains!
Top Things To Do in Crested Butte (other than skiing)
Ride the Lift: The Silver Queen lift at Crested Butte Mountain Resort will take you up 3,600m (11,875 ft) with grand views of the valley, surrounding peaks, and the town of Crested Butte.
Coffee Time: For all those coffee lovers out there you will be happy ot hear that some of the best cups of coffee in Colorado can be found in this little town including two shops that roast their own beans right here!
Hike or Snowshoe: Crested Butte lies close to the Elk Mountain Range in the Colorado Rockies. Wildflowers dominate the summer, golden aspens in the fall, and stunning snowscapes in the winter. There are trails close to town for all ability levels.
Bike: Summer and fall mountain biking is world class here in Crested Butte and in the Winter you don't have to miss out because of the new fat biking on snow.
The Famous Wildflowers: Crested Butte is officially the Wildflower Capital of Colorado, so if you’re here for the season, it’s definitely a sight to behold.
