HOW TO HAVE THE PERFECT TROPICAL GETAWAY TO FIJI | QAMEA RESORT & SPA

If you are heading to Fiji to spend a romantic couple of nights together I think we have found the perfect spot for you. Imagine having your very own beach bungalow on an adults-only island surrounded by palm trees and marine life ... sounds like a pretty dreamy trip if you ask us.

During our recent travels through Fiji we spent our final 3 nights at the stunning Qamea Resort and Spa in the north of Fiji. This hidden gem is the ultimate quiet getaway. With only 15 luxurious villas available, you will always feel like you have the island to yourself.

If you are busy planning your next summer getaway, we are here to convince you why Fiji is the place to go! Check out our YouTube video below of our time at Qamea Resort and Spa and keep scrolling for more info!

Qamea Resort & Spa: Checking In

To reach Qamea you need to fly north to the island of Taveuni. The scenic flight is around 80 minutes from Nadi and the views we had from the sky are completely breathtaking. Once we landed at the islands tiny airport we were picked up by the resort and taken through the lush jungle to a landing where a boat was waiting for us. We took off our shoes and walked through the warm water up to the boat and jumped in. 10 minutes later we had reached the island and greeted by friendly staff who had coconuts at the ready. The journey to get to the resorts here in Fiji are always an adventure in itself!

The Room

Our Beachfront Bure had the complete traditional Fijian style feel you are wanting when staying on an island in Fiji. With high ceilings, thatched roofs, stunning hardwood floors and local Fijian art hanging on the walls - these bures are stunning. Each bure is fully air-conditioned, with king sized beds, mini bar, stunning bathrooms along with thick towels and bathrobes - however, our favourite feature would have to be the open air outdoor shower and hot tub!

Each bure is nestled amongst the coconut palms and tropical gardens and gives you a lot of privacy. Each morning we would wake up and walk along the white sand beaches diving straight into the tropical waters to start the day - it's moments like these that make a trip to Fiji so special.

The Food

Something unique to Qamea is their food. They serve delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a nice touch is that you can choose to enjoy your meal anywhere you please. One morning we had our coffee & eggs served to us right on the beach, some nights we enjoyed our 3 course dinner on our own balcony and other days we opted for breakfast in bed. Having the flexibility of eating when and where ever while still having it all pre-paid as a meal plan is amazing!

The Activities

If you are looking for a relaxing trip or a bit of adventure Qamea Resort has you covered. They have an amazing spa full of treatments for you to choose from, a PADI accredited dive shop, snorkel gear to use straight from the resort and daily activities available from a catered picnic lunch on your own private beach to cascading jungle waterfall hikes. However you like to spend your holidays Qamea can organise it for you.

One of the highlights for us on this trip was the day we took the boat over to Taveuni to explore Tavoro Falls. We spent the morning hiking through the jungle to three different waterfalls which were all so breathtaking! We also spent one afternoon snorkelling in an area called Horseshoe Bay. The marine life here were so bright and colourful and we even jumped into the ocean with some resident dolphins that we saw on the way back to the resort.
